This is another in a series of ‘mixed media’ monoprints using liquid rubber (#flexseal) over laser toner on photographic paper. This strange juxtaposition of mediums is getting more exciting since it allows me to use the computer and laser printer as part of the process.

The toner is affected by the application of the rubber in the last stages. It does not run, but something seems to happen to it that I cannot predict. I tend to like random things like this to occur in my work. And on the other hand, there is not a single mark on the image that I did not labor over.

These are not action paintings, although in one sense I suppose the speed at which I work could make them ‘definable’ as such. But in my view, they are not action paintings. They are emotional ones.
