This is one of the first “Realized” works that I created using flexseal. I used the medium to create everything in this work. I started out by creating a set of flexible printing plates, and used my collage techniques to layer them onto wet rubber. Such a strange image.
This image is full of the iconography I am known for, albiet in a more abstract form. The ladders are there, of course. I’m not sure where the journey is going. I find myself lost when I am creating this type of image, and using flexseal as a medium is a speedy evolution from where it started. Somehow, it evokes a sense of flow and impatience, speed. But the truth is that it dries much more slowly than acrylic, yet much faster than oils, so it seems perfect for me as a medium.
